Malacañang assured that there would be no sacred cow in the looming investigation on the controversies hounding the country’s hosting of the 30th Southeast Asian Games.
Presidential spokesman Salvador Panelo made the assurance, saying that they would surely punish those who committed wrongdoing in organizing the country’s hosting of the prestigious biennial meet.
House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano, who ran as the Vice President of President Rodrigo Duterte during the national elections in 2016, has been in the eye of the storm for leading the Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee.
“There is no sacred cow in this government. We’ve been repeatedly saying that those who transgress to law will be accountable,” Panelo said.

At the same time, Panelo said any complaint lodged in the Office of the President vis-à-vis any matter concerning the SEA Games will be subject for scrutiny.
“If there is a complaint, then we will investigate.”
Aside from Malacañang, also tipped to call for an investigation is the Senate with Sen. Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go serving as spearhead.
