“More than the ad hominem issues hurled against Trump, a real economic agenda is critical for the Democrats. They need to offer a better economy. That requires a real platform the electorate can chew on.

“It’s the name of a politician of Maltese American descent running among the top three in the 2019 Democratic presidential primaries. Peter Buttigieg was the mayor of South Bend, Indiana — a city recovering from being branded by Newsweek as “dying” just 10 years ago. Last week Buttigieg was the leading Democratic candidate. A few days ago Joe Biden retook the lead”.

“The diversity of ethnic and minority roots shows the United States melting pot has changed rather radically. They had a guy named Barack Hussein as president. A fellow named Mitt challenged him. And before that there was Newt. Buttigieg is from the LGBTQ community, while Barack is African American. Elizabeth Warren who is running among the top five once claimed she was Native American.”

“If you think Buttigieg is a tongue twister, wait until you see the twists and turns in the platforms the front runners are offering the American public.”

We are employing this dialogue to draw out and discuss several issues affecting the Democratic Party in the United States. Not only will these issues radically change the US should at least two of the front runners make it to the final list but such change could affect the rest of the world drastically.

Other than former Vice President Biden, everyone else considered a front runner including candidates Warren, running third, and Bernard Sanders, now at fourth place, is important.

All hope to capitalize on Trump’s weaknesses. We admit there’s quite a number. He talks like a used car salesman. He is a cheerleader. He recklessly and unnecessarily tweets. He bullies and insults. He speaks without regard for political correctness and often off-the-cuff. He is dogged on building a damn wall. Worse, he wears his neck ties way too long.

His strengths are however formidable. Note the Trump economy. Employment has grown consistently, mostly for minorities that used to be the Democratic base. The joblessness rate is consistently under four percent. Despite being called a racist, under Trump the unemployment rate for Latinos and Blacks are at historical lows. The capital markets are experiencing their longest bull run in history. Real wages among the lowest wage industries have grown the fastest. Arraying this with the jobs data validates the historical peaking of the consumer sentiment index.

Even as Trump is constantly attacked on all fronts, and admittedly a number of the ever-repeating issues are understandable, immunized from deep-seated hatred, main street America upon whom the foregoing directly impact have other concerns that play into Trump’s potent strengths and his resplendent economy.

The electorate is seeking platforms that directly affect their lives more than the partisan pursuit of controversial charges involving a distant country once behind the iron curtain.

After three years of trying to pin Trump on an assortment of accusations from being a “Manchurian Candidate,” to being a white supremacist, to blackmailing the Ukrainian president, polls show these attempts now seem to be guaranteeing him a reelection.

To validate, simply order the blue plate special from any small-town diner and strike a conversation with the blue-collar guy behind the counter.

So where is that platform? Biden who is often confused with his facts simply represents a failed pre-Trump economy. Buttigieg offers hope but has no national experience and is unpopular with blacks and other ethnic minorities. Both Warren and Sanders offer radical far Left socialism that could overturn the economy and lead to greater taxation. Michael Bloomberg in fifth place is there because of the fears generated by the latter two.

The ducks are in a row ready for Trump’s plinking. Analyze the Democrat’s predicament and realize why their impeachment initiative are now their most lethal campaign tool.
