A policeman escaped being killed by a grenade that exploded after falling off his motorcycle, but a bystander was killed and three others were wounded in the incident Sunday morning in Mandaluyong City.
Police are investigating the blast which happened at 6:30 a.m. along Martinez Street, P/Col. Remigio Sedanto said.
P/Staff Sgt. Aldin Saligo of the Mandaluyong Drug Enforcement Unit was driving the motorbike when the grenade fell off after he hit a road hump.
He quickly jumped off to escape the blast that claimed four casualties. The policeman said he has been receiving death threats.
