BAGUIO CITY—More than 90 percent of the entire Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) are physically fit.
Thus, declared BCPO director PCol. Allen Rae Co after noting that majority of his personnel have registered body mass index (BMI) within what is required by the Philippine National Police (PNP) or those considered as physically fit.
Co said that this shows the discipline of BCPO personnel not only in maintaining their body fitness which is key in the performance of their duty as law enforcers.
If they are physically sound, they can deliver much better service to the public, Co said during the regular afternoon exercises at the Rose Garden of the Baguio Burnham Park.

BMI is the recommended method for knowing whether a person is obese, overweight or needing additional nourishment.
Members of the “Baguio’s Finest” regularly hold taebo sessions as part of BCPO’s wellness program to ensure physical fitness.
Co admitted that there are some personnel of BCPO who were previously obese, overweight and even underweight and undernourished but because of interventions and determination, there are now improvements.
He said that they are requiring every Baguio policeman to have regular exercises.
Co, however, said they will not force their colleagues especially those who have heart problems and old age to join the regular exercises but alternative ways to cut weight are encouraged.
