The Philippine Arena, the world's largest indoor arena with a maximum seating capacity of 55,000, will host the 30th SEA Games opening rites on 30 November.
A”no-fly zone” in the surrounding areas of the Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan, and New Clark City in Tarlac, will be implemented during the opening and closing ceremonies of the 30th Southeast Asian Games, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) stated in a notices to airmen (NOTAMs) advisory issued Tuesday.
Restricted are aircraft operations within three nautical miles and general aviation flights within forty nautical miles from 6 am to 11 p.m. at Philippine Arena for the opening rites on 30 November and at New Clark City, host of the 11 December closing ceremony.
The no-fly zone will also include restrictions on the operation of Unmanned Aircraft Vehicles (UAV) or drones.
CAAP is asking for the public’s cooperation in the implementation and assured that airline operations at Clark International Airport will not be affected.
Ticket prices for the opening rites at the 55,000-seater Philippine Arena range from P1,000 (General Admission) to P12,000 (Patron). With only nine days left, online seller smtickets.com has barely sold tickets, with only a section each of the General Admission Center (P1,500) and General Admission Side (P1,000) indicating unavailability.
