Scout rangers to get 500 more houses

The Philippine Army (PA) and Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC) are constructing additional houses and other facilities for members of the First Scout Ranger Regiment (FSRR) and their dependents at Camp Tecson, San Miguel, Bulacan.

The second batch of 500 houses and a training pool for Scout Ranger troops aims to upgrade their standard of living.

Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Macairog Alberto and HUDCC Chairperson Sec. Eduardo D. del Rosario led the groundbreaking ceremony for the housing units held last 15 November.

“These events certainly reflect positive changes throughout the organization, not only to the quality of professionalization of our ranks but also to the standards of living for our soldiers,” Alberto said.

Another 500 houses are expected to be turned over before year’s end.

The 14-feet training pool, meanwhile, will be mainly used for the training of the Rangers to enhance their warfighting capabilities as well as provide a recreation area for the troops and their families.

“These new facilities will greatly boost the morale of not just our uniformed personnel but also their families. We look forward to more collaborative ventures and continuous partnership between the PA and HUDCC for the continuous development of our Armed Forces,” said Alberto.
