Antipolo City dominated anew the 7th Regional Competitiveness Summit after it was hailed the Most Competitive City in the Philippines in the Component City category.
Antipolo topped the Overall Competitiveness in the Component City, Government Efficiency and Resilience categories and was second in Infrastructure during the awarding rites held 24 October at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City
It marked the the second time in the last three years that Antipolo won while the Rizal provincial government took a fourth straight Most Competitive Province award.

Mayor Andrea “Andeng” Ynares said Antipolo’s feat was an overwhelming experience.
“The welfare of the citizenry remains our guiding light and inspiration for the implementation of every program and project of the local government,” said Ynares.
The Department of Trade and Industry, through its Competitiveness Bureau, recognized local government units with exemplary performance in four criteria: Economic Dynamism, Government Efficiency, Infrastructure and Resiliency.
A total of 1,518 LGUs participated in the summit that handed out awards in four categories: Third to Sixth-class municipalities, First to Second-class municipalities, Component Cities and Highly Urbanized Cities.
Just recently, Antipolo City was recognized as the Most Business-Friendly City by President Rodrigo Duterte and the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Antipolo was also conferred with the 2019 Seal of Good Local Governance, given annually by the Department of the Interior and Local Government.
