A pizza delivery boy was rushed to the hospital at the crack of dawn Wednesday after his service motorcycle figured in a collision with a closed van in Caloocan City.
First responder Jeff Galgana, who was aboard his own motorcycle on the opposite lane, told the Daily Tribune the accident happened at the intersection of 10th Avenue and A. De Jesus.
According to Galgana, the rider had injuries on his head, face and torso but was conscious and “responsive” right after the accident and after he was brought to the Caloocan City Medical Center.
Responding policemen contacted the rider’s family while the Daily Tribune informed the pizza company about the accident, the identity of their personnel involved and other pertinent details.
“We saw he had head injuries so we asked him not to sleep. That was before the ambulance came,” Galgana said.
The driver of the van was taken in by policemen for booking while his crew helped in bringing the injured rider to the hospital.
