As the Christmas season is fast approaching, Manila archbishop Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle is inviting the public to express support the “Light the World” campaign of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
The campaign — which calls for the public to do an act of charity in a quick, easy and unique way through vending machines — will have Caritas Manila as one of its main beneficiaries.
“This program is inviting people to share love,” Tagle said.
Starting 8 November, people can buy for someone in need through special “Giving Machines” that will be located at the 4th Level of TriNoma Mall near Cinema 1 in Quezon City.
Unlike the regular vending machines, customers are actually giving something to someone in need when they use the Giving Machine — which was first launched in the United States in 2017.

“So please look for these Giving Machines. And when you see them, let the light of love be ignited in you and share whatever you have with our suffering brothers and sisters,” Tagle said.
The Giving Machines will operate during mall hours until 31 December 2019.
