Osmeñas deny death yarns

CEBU City — Former city mayor Tomas “Tommy” Osmeña and former solon and Toledo City Mayor John Henry “ Sonny” Osmeña have denied rumors circulating the past few days that they are both dead.

“ I am sorry to disappoint my enemies, but I am very much alive.” Sonny Osmeña said.

He admitted though that his doctors have discovered that he has stage 2 cancer but that he is responding very well and there’s nothing to worry about.

“I have chemotherapy every 21 days and my last is this month.I have no food restrictions,” the former senator said.

Tommy, on the other hand has been confined in a private hospital in Mandaue City since last Friday.

His wife and former Cebu City Councilor Margarita “ Margot” Osmeña told Daily Tribune. that Tommy was confined because of Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) and skipped visiting the grave of his father former Senator Sergio “Serging” Osmeña Jr. on 1 November.

“Infection is under contro even as he is still being given antibiotics intravenously,” Margot said.

She even quoted Tommy as saying “ I am so happy Tommy is back.”(to his old self).

Margot insisted “that’s he is even making kulit again about going home and in fact asked and got permission to come home Saturday night for a short while to take a shower and the added bonus of seeing Anita (grandaughter) who was so happy to see her Lolo.”
