Six houses in Barangay Cembo, Makati City went up in flames yesterday morning.
The houses, located along Calamansi and Kamyas streets, continued burning in spite of the rain.
Investigation by the Makati Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said the fire started in the home of a certain Aurora Solantes.
Makati City fire marshal Fire Sup. Roy Quisto said firefighters did not have a hard time controlling the fire, but they did have difficulty entering the fire scene because of the narrow passageways and obstructions in the area.
The BFP will look into the wiring of the house where the fire was believed to have started, since it is said that it has been standing in the area for the past 55 years.
