I want to win a championship here in Meralco just like when I was still part of the Purefoods franchise.

Allein Maliksi is looking for another championship run following his trade to Meralco in the ongoing Philippine Basketball Association Governors’ Cup.

Maliksi joined the Bolts after Blackwater dealt him with Raymar Jose for Mike Tolomia, Niño Cañaleta and two future second-round picks.

With that, Maliksi completed his exodus from a young and developing team into a title contender, similar to his situation four years ago when he moved from Barako Bull to Barangay Ginebra to San Miguel Coffee, where he won a rare grand slam.

Maliksi said he would do everything to help the Bolts become a championship contender.

“I want to win a championship here in Meralco just like when I was still part of the Purefoods franchise,” said the former University of Santo Tomas star.

Maliksi debuted with 12 points, five rebounds and two assists when Meralco crushed powerhouse San Miguel Beer, 125-99.

Now, the Bolts are on top of the standings with a 5-2 win-loss mark.

“Basketball becomes easier for me because the players are working together during the game so the game became easier for me.” Maliksi said.

“Hopefully, I can get my game back that I lost when I was in Purefoods because I struggled when I was in Blackwater because that’s my focus right now to improve my game.”
