MANILA — A creative marriage proposal makes for a memorable engagement. Japanese-South Korean singer Kangnam made sure of that for him and his future wife, speed skater Lee Sang Hwa.

Kangnam recently visited Lee at her home and told her he would give her a pedicure. She obliged and he painted her toenails with a red polish.

The vocalist of the South Korean hip-hop group M.I.B. did a nice polishing job, according to Lee. Then, he asked her to close her eyes and painted a white polish on the toenails of her right foot: letter M on the middle toe, A on the index toe and RR on the big toe. On her left foot’s toenails, he painted the letter Y on the big toe, M on the index toe and E on the middle toe.

When he asked Lee to open her eyes, she gasped and smiled on seeing the “Marry me” written on her toenails.

“It’s so cute,” she exclaimed, according to reports on the marriage proposal that was shown on a South Korean entertainment TV program.

Lee was doubly happy not because Kangnam can also make for a good nail artist after his singing career is over.
