Authorities on Saturday reported that a 32-year-old employee of the Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau (MTPB) was shot to death by unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle early dawn in Binondo, Manila.
Initial reports revealed that the victim — identified as Marlon Lacsina — was declared dead-on-arrival at Justice Jose Abad Santos General Hospital (JJASGH) due to multiple gunshot wounds to the body.
According to Manila Police District-homicide section’s P/Staff Master Sergeant Boy Nino Baladjay, the victim was receiving death threats and noted that they are investigating where the threats came from to shed light on the incident.
The victim was recently designated as team leader of the MTPB at CM Recto Avenue.
Investigations showed that the victim — who was with a co-worker — has just alighted from their motorcycle when the gunman approached him and shot him at point-blank range and after Lacsina fell, the unidentified suspect escaped with a companion on a motorcycle.
Police returned a black sling bag belong to the wife of the victim where among its content were identification card, two booklets of MTPB parking receipts and cash money amounting to P28,800 while the mobile phone of the victim is still under the custody of the investigator for examination.
