Two persons were hurt while 700 families were left homeless after a fire razed a residential area at Market 3, Barangay North Bay Boulevard North (NBBN) in Navotas City early Friday.
The Navotas City Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said that the blaze lasted for about two hours, with the first report received at 2:27 a.m. It reached 5th alarm at around 2:48 a.m. and was declared fire out at around 6:14 a.m.
The BFP added that the fire spread quickly because the houses were made of light materials.
Authorities have yet to confirm the cause of the fire and the estimated worth of damages.
