A drug suspect was killed after he allegedly fought back authorities during a buy-bust operation in Quezon City on Sunday morning.
A total of P27.2 million worth of shabu was seized from the suspect, identified as Edgardo Alfonso.
It was discovered that the drug trafficking order came from a drug lord detained at the New Bilibid Prison, according to Major Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, Philippine National Police chief of directorial staff, said.
Eleazar did not name the group the suspect was involved with because they will be conducting a follow-up operation.
According to initial investigation, the drug transaction was supposed to take place in a gasoline station along P. Tuazon Street. However, the suspect, sensing the upcoming buy-bust operation, immediately ran and shot the poseur-buyer.
