The country’s top threats for the first half of 2019 are ransomware, Trojan downloaders, and file infectors.
A global cybersecurity solution firm recently revealed that about 26.8 billion fileless threats globally have been detected in the first half of 2018.
In its mid-year annual roundup report “Evasive Threats, Pervasive Effects: 2019 Midyear Security Roundup,” Trend Micro Philippines Inc. said the figure was a hefty 265 percent jump from the six billion threats it detected in the same period last year and 18 percent more than the overall fileless events detected in the entire 2018.
The results indicate that cyber threats against businesses are an evolving and fast-growing menace to today’s digital ecosystem.
The report also revealed the cyberattacks are have become smarter and can aim at businesses and setups that may already have some sort of protection intact. It noted that vulnerabilities remain a major cause for concern.
