Aguinaldo-Daang Hari flyover opens

The opening of a four-lane flyover at the busy intersection of Aguinaldo Highway and Daanghari Road in Anabu, Imus City is expected to lessen travel time between Metro Manila and Cavite by half an hour.

The first flyover in Imus that Department Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark A. Villar officially opened to vehicular traffic on Saturday is also easing travel between the busy intersection and the Malagasang-Bucandala-Alapan Road and Cavite-Laguna Expressway.

The flyover can eliminate delays especially for the through traffic movement at Daang Hari Road which means savings on vehicle operating cost.

The other expected benefits from the flyover are the improvement of the living standards of residents near the area, faster delivery of goods and services, and sustainable growth and development of Imus City and even neighboring Dasmariñas City.

Villar said the flyover will cut air pollution in the area with the reduction of heavy traffic in the intersection.

The project was implemented by DPWH Regional Office IV-A headed by Director Samson Hebra together with the Cavite 1st District Engineering Office. It cost P264 million to finish.

Construction started in March 2016 but was hampered by right-of-way issues and an accident in May 2018 when part of a boom crane placing the girder or concrete beam in the flyover collapsed.
