KJ is like Terrence because he’s always willing to give passes, which makes our ball rotation better.
It’s not hard to compare KC McDaniels to his fellow TNT KaTropa import Terrence Jones.
Aside from both reinforcements once played for the Houston Rockets in the National Basketball Association (NBA), they also possessed the same qualities, the reason why the KaTropa are at upper echelon of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Governors’ Cup.
“KJ is like Terrence because he’s always willing to give passes, which makes our ball rotation better,” TNT KaTropa forward Troy Rosario said.
Jones, the Best Import of the Commissioner’s Cup, led the KaTropa to an impressive 10-1 record in the elimination phase of the mid-season tournament and reached the finals against eventual champion San Miguel Beer.

The enigmatic forward averaged 35.7 points, 14.7 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 3.5 blocks in his PBA debut.
And Rosario feels that McDaniels has the same qualities that can help the seven-time PBA champion reach the finals anew.
In three games, McDaniels averages of 36.7 points, 14.3 rebounds and 6.0 assists for TNT KaTropa and more than the numbers, he seems to be a good fit for the team of coach Bong Ravena.
His partnership with Rosario led to the former National University’s conference-high of 32 points against the Fuel Masters.
And McDaniels is now filling the role that Rosario played last conference and the latter said he’s more comfortable with his new task in the team.
“That was (McDaniels’) my spot before. It’s like I am playing Terrence Jones’ position before with me getting a spot in the three-point area, getting offensive rebounds and attacking the basket from time to time.”
