Some 1,629 examinees passed the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Entrance Examination conducted last August, an official disclosed.

Major Reynan C. Afan, acting Chief of the PMA’s Public Affairs Office, said the examination was conducted last 25 August in 41 testing centers nationwide.

According to Afan, the successful examinees made it to the next phase of the selection process for PMA Cadetship which is the Complete Physical Examination to be conducted at the Armed Forces of the Philippines Health Service Command at V. Luna Road, Quezon City.

Afan said the successful examinees will be notified through their email addresses, phone numbers and other means.

“The successful applicants will go through medical, psychological and physical examination to determine their fitness to undergo the four-year military training in the academy,” he said.

After the series of examinations, Afan said the PMA Cadet Procurement Board will deliberate and select the most qualified candidates to compose PMA Class of 2024 who are expected to report to the PMA on 01 June 2020 for the oath-taking ceremony and start of their cadet training.

In a previous interview, Afan expressed belief that the controversy surrounding the death of Cadet 4th Class Darwin Dormitorio due to maltreatment or hazing won’t have an impact on the PMA’s recruitment of new cadets.

He also assured parents of cadets and those who intend to enter the academy that their sons and daughters will he treated properly and taken cared off.
