Agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) rescued nearly 100 women, including four Filipino women, at an alleged prostitution den posing as a music bar in Makati City on Tuesday.

A report submitted to the NBI said 91 Chinese women and four Filipino women were rescued in a raid at Skytop International Club at the corner of Yakal and Talisay Streets in Barangay San Antonio.

Eight alleged male pimps — four Chinese and four Filipinos — were also arrested.

Lawyer Romeo Astrero Jr., chief of the NBI Anti-Fraud Division (AFD), said they were alerted by a Chinese national about Skytop’s nefarious activities.

The bar caters exclusively to Chinese nationals. Other nationalities, including Filipinos, cannot enter without the endorsement of a Chinese or bar insiders.

Astrero said advanced booking is done through an online application (app) and the approval shown before being allowed entry.

The clients proceed to a VIP (very important person) room where Chinese and Filipina women are chosen. The minimum price for each girl is P15,000 — higher if the girl will be taken out.

Bar personnel denied to authorities that prostitution activities were being held inside but used condoms that littered the rooms validated the NBI’s raid.

The eight alleged traffickers will be charged with violation of the Anti-Human Trafficking Law and Cybercrime Prevention Act.
