The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Tuesday revealed that another cadet from the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) has been taken to the AFP Medical Center in Quezon City on Monday noon due to alleged hazing.

In a statement, AFP spokesman Brig. Gen. Edgard Arevalo said that the still unidentified cadet has been in and out of the hospital due to stomach pains until he was taken by PMA

officers to AFP Medical Center at 12 noon on Monday.

The military spokesman recounted that during the victim’s first confinement, he complained of stomach ache which was initially diagnosed as gastroenteritis.

“He was in and out of the hospital for stomach pains, it’s like gastroenteritis,” said Arevalo. “But when he returned a second time there were markings, he complained of stomach ache. There were also markings of possible maltreatment.”

Arevalo noted that investigations are now being conducted regarding the possible maltreatment of the victim.

To recall, two other PMA officers were also taken to the AFP Medical Center due to alleged hazing.
