Online seller Lazada will cooperate with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) which is investigating its alleged sale of tooter, a drug paraphernalia.
A statement from Lazada said they “take any concerns raised about products offered for sale by the merchants on our platform very seriously.”
“Merchants signify and declare that they are fully compliant with relevant and applicable local laws, regulations, and/or issuances,” Lazada stated. “Lazada has in place various policies and procedures to protect the integrity of our platform and customers. When there are any concerns about alleged prohibited goods, we have a strict Prohibited Goods Policy that the merchants are required to comply.”
Tooters were confiscated together with illegal drugs and other drug paraphernalia from a pharmacist and a nurse in buy-bust operations in Pasig City and Quezon City on Thursday.
“You see the two items at the back? They ordered that through Lazada. So for the first time, they can be ordered through Lazada,” PDEA chief Aaron said.

“At first, we didn’t believe them until we found the items in Lazada. There is a chance that illegal drugs are also being sold there. Why are you going to sell drug paraphernalia?”
At the same time, the PDEA will craft a memorandum of agreement with Transportation Network Vehicle Service company Lalamove to prevent the distribution of illegal drugs through their service.
