A 45-year old jobless man died after he was shot by still unidentified assailants in his house in Quezon City on Sunday night, police disclosed yesterday.
A report reaching the Quezon City Police District-Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (QCPD-CIDU) headquarters in Camp Karingal identified the victim as Rommel Martinez, of Barangay Batasan Hills.
The shooting took place at about 8:30 p.m. last Sunday.
The victim’s sister, Ma Jean, was watching television when she heard and saw one of two suspects call her brother. The suspect then grabbed the victim by his neck and shot him multiple times.
The suspects immediately fled on foot to an undisclosed destination.
The victim’s sister immediately sought the help of their neighbors, who in turn reported the matter to officials of Barangay Batasan Hills and later to the police for investigation.
Police Lt. Nick S. Fontanilla, chief of the QCPD-CIDU’s homicide section, said one of the male suspects, who was armed with a handgun, was wearing a black jacket and black bull cap, while the other was wearing a white full-face mask.
