Former Pangasinan Governor and Congressman Amado Espino Jr. has been released from the hospital three days after an ambush by unidentified suspects in San Carlos City.
In a photo posted by his son, Pangasinan 2nd District Rep. Jumel Espino on his official Facebook account, the older Espino is seen interacting with guests at their home after he was discharged from the hospital Saturday.
Espino and his security aides were ambushed by armed men Wednesday in Magtaking, San Carlos City, while on board their vehicles.
Meanwhile, two of his companions, Staff Sgt. Richard Esguerra died on the spot while Agapito Cuizon died in the hospital after being brought for treatment.
Police have already identified the owners of the getaway vehicles used which were discovered to be registered in Metro Manila. The PNP-Highway Patrol Group has been assigned to determine if the used getaway vehicles were carnapped.
