Megaworld, GERI investing ₱18B in new Cavite township

European-themed houses are seen to rise in the Arden Botanical Estate in Tanza, Cavite.

Megaworld Corp. and Global-Estate Resorts Inc. (GERI) are shelling out ₱18 billion over the next 15 years to jointly develop a new township in Cavite.

Megaworld said it will transform with GERI a 251-hectare land along Juanito Remulla Sr. Road (formerly Governor’s Drive) in Tanza into Arden Botanical Estate.

More than half of the Arden Botanical Estate will be residential and leisure villages, while a portion will be used for the Town Center where commercial areas, sports and adventure parks, and a mixed-use area will be located.

An expansive space will be allocated for gardens and natural parks, such as a flower farm, flower tunnel, and children’s garden. It will also feature solar street lights, electric shuttles for transport, storm water recycling, permeable pavements for driveways and parking, and organic fertilizers and pesticides for gardens.

From the township’s entrance, Megaworld said a six-lane avenue will be constructed that will lead to a pavilion and a town center.

“Our concept for this expansive development is to allow everyone living, working and even visiting the township to appreciate a beautiful and purposeful life. This is another unique township concept that will certainly stand out from any other developments in and around Cavite,” Megaworld chief strategy officer Kevin Tan said.

“We will put design and aesthetics at the forefront, and function and purpose at the backbone of its planning.”

Arden Botanical Estate will be Megaworld’s 25th township development and GERI’s seventh lifestyle and tourism project.

The Andrew Tan-led property giant has been bullish on Cavite development. Apart from Arden Botanical Estate, it also built the 561-hectare Southwoods City, located between the boundaries of Carmona and Binan, Laguna, and the 140-hectare Maple Grove in General Trias.
