A 63-year-old taho vendor is now in jail for allegedly molesting a 3-year-old girl in Quezon City on Tuesday afternoon, police disclosed on Thursday.
A report from the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Batasan Police Station 6 (PS-6) identified the arrested suspect as Leonardo Romantico, married, and a resident of Barangay Commonwealth, Quezon City. The victim is also a resident in the same barangay.
A report on the investigation indicated that at about 1 p.m. Tuesday, 10 September, the victim was playing with her friend in Riverside Street when the suspect approached and inserted his finger in the private part of the girl.
The young girl immediately went home and told her mother what just happened and the latter sought the help of policemen from Police Station-6 and barangay personnel who arrested the suspect.
The suspect is now facing charges of violating Republic Act 8353 (Rape) in relation to Republic Act 7610.
