A tropical depression brewing outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) has entered the country and has been named “Marilyn,” the state weather bureau reported Thursday.
Marilyn was last seen 1,355 kilometers east of Casiguran, Aurora, and is packing maximum winds of up to 55 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 70 kph.
It is less likely to make landfall but its trough will bring light to moderate rains and intermittent heavy rainshowers over most of Luzon and Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Bangsamoro, Northern Mindanao and SOCCSKSARGEN Friday, 13 September.
PAGASA warned the public against hazards associated with the heavy rains, including flash floods and landslides.
