Former Pangasinan 5th District Congressman Amado “Ama” Espino Jr., was wounded after he was shot by a still unidentified suspect in San Carlos City, Pangasinan yesterday afternoon.
Philippine National Police spokesman Police Brig. Gen. Bernard Banac said the shooting incident took place at Magtaking, San Carlos City, Pangasinan at about 4:30 p.m.
Banac said that based on an initial report submitted by the Police Regional Office 1, the victim was onboard his vehicle when he was shot by still unidentified assailants.
He said the victim sustained wounds and was brought to the Holy Blessed Family Hospital, San Carlos City, Pangasinan for medical treatment, while two of his aides were killed.
Banac said the motive for the shooting remains unknown.
