The Philippines’ Anthony Cortes Raga and Rubilen Amit settled for runner-up honors to local players in the 2019 World 9-Ball China Open which ended Sunday at Pudong’s Tangzhen County.
Wu Jiaqing edged Raga, 11-10, in the men’s championship for his second title in the tournament after winning in 2016.
From a 7-10 deficit in the best-of-21 final, Raga took the next three frames to level at 10-10. But Wu pulled through to claim the crown.
The women’s competition was less tense for China’s Chen Siming, who overcame Amit, 9-3, in the best-of-17 final.
It was Chen’s third title after lifting the trophy in 2010 and 2016.
