Two suspected drug couriers were killed after an armed encounter with the police during a buy-bust operation along Felix Avenue in Brgy. dela Paz, Pasig City early Thursday.
Authorities identified the two as Jalal Salamoden, alias Bon Jovie, and Sampiano Rason, among the targets of OPLAN “Silent Sentinel.” They were belived to be members of a syndicate headed by Amin Imam Buratong, who is serving sentence at the National Bilibid Prison.
Recovered from the suspects were one kilogram of shabu amounting to P6.8 million, four bundles of P1,000 bills boodle money equivalent to P450,00.00, an American Classic caliber .45 pistol, one Norinco 9MM pistol, ammunitions and a motorcycle.
Buratong was imprisoned in 2006 and is the mind behind the shabu tiangge (flea market) at Mayapa Compound in Brgy. Sto Tomas, Pasig City.
Despite his imprisonment, Buratong is reportedly still involved in the illegal drug trade through his cousin, Acsaimin Buratong.
