San Sebastian College got back on winning track following a thrilling 102-101 overtime victory over Letran College in Season 95 of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) men’s basketball tournament Wednesday at the Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

RK Ilagan and Allyn Bulanadi delivered the goods for the Stags, after a scary moment against the Knights.

Ilagan fired 22 points, seven assists and two rebounds while Bulanadi delivered 21 points as their team improved to a 3-3 win-loss card.

“We stuck to our gameplan and the rookies stepped up. They are hungry for this win,” said San Sebastian assistant coach Carmelo Banua, who was stepping in for head coach Egay Macaraya who was slapped with a suspension for unsportsmanlike conduct.

“This win heightened the morale of our players because we fell short the past few games.”

With the game tied at 91 at the end of regulation, Anmar Cosari delivered a triple to give the Stags some breathing space, 98-95, with 2:41 left in overtime.

Then, Ken Villapando knocked down a tough layup off the assists by Ilagan to give San Sebastian a 102-101 lead with only 18 ticks left.

Larry Muyang had a chance to steal the win, but he muffed his charities, allowing the Stags to run away with the victory.

Muyang carried the Knights with a career-high 32 points on top of 18 rebounds while Jerrick Balanza chipped in 21 points, four rebounds and four assists for the Knights, who suffered their third loss in eight games.
