A portion of the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) remains closed as of posting time Sunday after a detached coping beam from the Skyway Stage 3 project caused traffic buildup.
Heavy traffic was reported along the Balintawak southbound exit when the 58-ton coping bean fell off its hook during installation at about 2 a.m.
The NLEX management has issued an apology and announced that its traffic and safety teams are on site to ease the situation.
It is also coordinating with the Skyway management and contractor for the retrieval of the collapsed beam.
