ANOTHER discovery for actress Anne Curtis is that multivitamins do not make an individual hyperactive.
In a bright orange dress, her hair in a high ponytail, Anne Curtis is the very image of perkiness. If she were a fruit, she would be a citrus — tart and sweet, full of sunshine and vitamins.
One thing about Anne is that nothing is put-on: what you see is basically what you get. She is always positive and optimistic, she admits — that’s just the way she’s made.
This is partly why her acting stints are noteworthy. In her 2018 roles, for example, the cheerful, smiley-faced Anne disappeared. As a Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency agent in BuyBust, she traded her girly-girl frocks for stunt-enabling, action hero outfits and a serious mien. In the Metro Manila Film Festival entry Aurora, she was colorless and quiet.
Outside of these notable works Anne enthuses about having done three vastly different roles last year and about challenging herself anew this year. As many know, the actress is known for her gung-ho passions, the most publicized of which was her pursuit of singing. Somehow, she made it possible and has had a couple of packed concerts to show for it.
One look at Anne Curtis’ social media accounts and one would instantly get a glimpse of her personality, her interests and, most especially, how she runs her day-to-day activities.
For starters, TV viewers regularly see her on It’s…Showtime from Monday to Saturday. In between, she fulfills her showbiz commitments like shoot for a movie, tape for a show, or record a song for a guesting or an album.
“I love being on a noontime show! I look forward to coming in everyday because when I am there with Vice, Vhong, Karylle, Jugs, Teddy, Tiyang Amy, Mariel, everyone. It doesn’t feel like work — it’s more like hanging out with your friends and you’re just having fun.”
As for making movies, Anne volunteers, “I love the challenge of making movies because I get to be another character and explore different worlds other than my own. I get to portray various roles and mold them into something that will affect viewers and hopefully spark something in them.”
More than a celebrity, Anne also fulfills her other obligations as a celebrity ambassador for numerous brands that she endorses. As if these weren’t enough, she is also a makeup entrepreneur with her very own cosmetic brand called BLK.
She is a daughter, sister and young wife to an equally active husband, as well as an animal lover with pets Mogwai, Pixie Grizzly, Princess and Tofu.
When she’s not doing all that, Anne can be seen training for a marathon or working out with her fitness trainer. She also attends to her passion project dubbed Dream Machine, a platform that aims to be a voice against dream shaming and be an enabler to make dreams come true.
“Dream Machine was born out of a desire to be a blessing to others. I’ve been so blessed and I keep thinking to myself, ‘How can I give back?’ This is something that I see myself doing for as long as I can. I will continue to help because there is always joy in giving, there’s a different satisfaction seeing someone fulfill his or her dreams and you played a part in it,” Anne shares.
The TV host reveals that one thing she and her celebrity husband Erwan Heussaff have gotten into recently is healthy eating. They no longer eat junk food, she confesses, and only choose natural ingredients. Eating healthy meals helps them keep strong, but Anne says taking supplements has also become a daily habit because of their age.
“I used to be a non-believer of vitamins until I started taking Enervon. It really helps because now I no longer get tired easily, and I don’t get sick as often as before,” Anne attests.
The Unilab supplement brand helps in replenishing nutrients in the body like vitamin C and B-complex that helps give extra energy and high immunity against common ailments like a cough and cold.
Vitamin C is a strong antioxidant that can strengthen the body’s natural defenses and protect the cells from harmful molecules called free radicals. B-complex, on the other hand, helps break down the food you eat so your body can convert it into usable energy for your daily functions.
“I learned that taking multivitamins everyday helps the body restore depleted nutrients that we cannot get from food alone,” Anne says.
Another discovery for Anne is that multivitamins do not make an individual hyperactive.
“When we expend energy, that is when we begin to grow tired or fatigued, making us vulnerable to diseases. That is where multivitamins come into play as it gives the extra energy we need and boosts the immune system that prevents us from getting sick,” she explains.
Dr. Rudy Pagcatipunan, medical director of Unilab Consumer Health, encourages better management of our energy so we do not get sick.
“Energy is an important currency now more than ever. It goes beyond just being hyper or jolly, it is a fundamental need in order to be alive. It fuels life, makes life possible, enables the body to function and move,” the doctor ends.
