Operatives of the Manila Police District (MPD) arrested two of the three members of the dreaded Batang City Jail (BCJ) gang reportedly involved in series of robbery and snatching cases in the city Wednesday at Sta. Ana, Manila.

The suspects, identified as Mark John Musni, 28, of No. 1811 Int. 56 Bo. Sta Maria, Paco, Manila and Raymond Dulot, 32, of No. 1661 Estrada St., Sta Ana, Manila are now under the custody of MPD San Andres Community Precinct.

A manhunt for the third BCJ accomplice, Joven Galang of 1545 Bo. Sta Maria St., Paco, Manila is now ongoing.

Investigation showed that the victim, “Ana” (not her real name) was walking along Zafiro St. near the corner of A. Francisco St., Sta Ana Manila at about 1 p.m. Wednesday when the three suspects approached her.

When the three got close to the victim, one of them tried to snatch her iPhone 6. As the victim resisted, one of them pulled out a gun and pointed it to her who was then left with no choice but to give up her mobile phone, a sling bag with P2,000 and a power bank.

Through follow-up operations, police were able to locate the whereabouts of the suspects where her mobile phone and sling bag were recovered but not the cash money.

During the course of investigation, another victim surfaced at the police station identified as Girlie Ortega, a call center agent of 2159 San Andres Bukid who narrated her experience from the suspects Musni and Galang who also snatched her mobile phone on 20 January at 1:30 pm at Revillin St., also in Sta. Ana Manila.

The suspects, who pointed at the store where they sold the mobile phone, will be charged for violation of Art. 293 of the Revised Penal Code (robbery holdup, robbery snatching) and violation of the Comelec Omnibus Election Code after a gun was confiscated from them before the Manila Prosecutors Office.
