The Makati City police arrested 59 individuals in a series of operations over the weekend targeting drug personalities, wanted criminals and violators of city ordinances.
The policemen kicked off their lightning raids by serving a search warrant for loose firearms on the owner of a house along Camino de la Fe Street in Barangay Guadalupe Nuevo.
Seized in that operation was a .38 caliber revolver and 36 sachets of suspected shabu.
Arrested was a certain Joseph, 19, the alleged owner of the gun and drugs.

The cops secured a search warrant based on information received via text from a concerned citizen.
“Mentioned was the name of someone selling drugs. They had been caught before but they haven’t stopped in dealing drugs,” Makati police chief Senior Supt. Rogelio Simon said.
“Maybe the tipster got tired of telling them to stop selling drugs,” Simon added in Filipino.
For Chief Inspector Gideon Ines Jr., the Makati City police deputy chief for operations, the raids and drug stings undertaken on his birthday and the next day were par for the course.
Ines said undercover cops initiated a drug buy-bust operation at the corner of Tanay and Osmeña street in Barangay Valenzuela, leading to the arrest of four persons in possession of shabu.
He added that two other drug stings were conducted by his men, sending a clear message to drug pushers that they are unwanted in Makati.
On Saturday morning, the police broke up the illegal gambling session involving nine men in Barangay Pembo, with two of those arrested yielding six sachets of shabu.
In all, 35 were arrested in relation to the illegal drugs trade, 22 for illegal gambling and other ordinances violations and two on the strength of arrest warrants.
