The San Juan City police formally filed charges on Monday against a store owner at Greenhills Shopping Center for allegedly manufacturing fake school and company identification cards.
Charges of falsification of private documents and violation of the Intellectual Property Code was filed before the San Juan City Prosecutors’ Office against the suspect, Angelito Benipayo, 40.
Benipayo is a graphic artist who is a resident of Road 4, Barangay West Crame in San Juan City.

The arrest stemmed from a complaint by one of the universities represented by Michael Jacinto Mallillin, 49.
In his complaint, Mallillin said a fake college ID was recovered by the security guard from one of the students while entering the campus located in Quezon City.
The student confessed that he obtained the fake ID from a print shop in Greenhills being rented by the suspect in printing T-shirts and fake ID as sideline.
The student said he paid P350 for the fake ID, which he claimed he used to get into clubs and bars.
Mallillin and officials of the university immediately coordinated with the San Juan police for an entrapment operation for the suspect’s arrest.
An undercover cop said the suspect offered to make him a fake ID for P350. When a cop handed the marked money, it served as a signal for the other policemen positioned at the area to arrest the suspect.
During the entrapment, some students arrived at the suspect’s shop asking for the fake ID they already paid for.
The policemen seized 30 pieces of fake ID cards of different schools, universities and several establishments. They also seized paraphernalia, including computer sets, printers, scanners, laminating film machines and cutters.
The suspect had been manufacturing fake ID for several months in the said print shop, according to the cops.
