Malacañang is unfazed over reports that the government did not achieve this year’s target of 6.5 percent economic growth.
“That was because of the inflation. Iyong inflation rate ang naging problema. Iyan ang sabi ng economic managers,” Presidential Spokesman Salvador Panelo said in a press briefing Thursday.
“But while short in the projected target, this just shows that there is always a room for improvement next year,” said Panelo adding that the administration has already done preventive measures to ease inflation in the past and the effects of these measures were considerably felt in the last quarter of the year.
“Economic managers are very confident that we’re on the right track. The best is yet to come,” he said.
