The Court of Appeals (CA) has affirmed its decision ordering former actress Rosanna Roces to pay P3.1 million in damages to an aesthetic clinic associated with celebrity doctor Vicki Belo.
The CA said no new arguments were raised by Roces, Jennifer Molina in real life, against its 6 June 2018 decision which upheld a ruling by the Quezon City Regional Trial Court (QC-RTC) finding her liable for damages.
The lower court ruled against Roces in a breach of contract case filed by Forever Flawless Face and Body Center which the actress endorsed in exchange for shares of stocks of the company.
Roces sold back the shares to the company for P1.5 million with the deed of sale stipulating that Roces would not make negative public pronouncements against the company and its services.
But Roces issued statements on television against Belo in 2004, alleging botched procedures like liposuction done on her, prompting Forever Flawless to hail her to court.
