Leading integrated food-manufacturing company General Milling Corp. (GMC) has renewed its contract for supply of clean, reliable and renewable energy from Lopez-led First Gen Corporation.
Under the new contract, First Gen will supply GMC’s facility in Lapu-Lapu City with electricity coming from Energy Development Corp. (EDC), First Gen’s renewable energy arm.
The Lapu-Lapu factory is GMC’s biggest facility.
“We chose to renew with First Gen and EDC because aside from the pure renewable energy that they provide, we are very satisfied with their service. It is just like a renewal of vows for us,” said GMC executive vice president, Joselito “Toto” Parco.

Cebu-based GMC has been providing quality flour and bakery products for more than 50 years. From its first milling facility that was established in the mid-’70s, GMC has expanded to animal feeds, corn mill, and the manufacturing and sales of consumer goods like snack food, pasta, instant noodles, edible oil and coffee. The Lapu-Lapu factory is GMC’s biggest facility.
First Gen is the country’s leading clean and renewable energy producer with 3,490 megawatts in installed capacity. Subsidiary EDC is one of the world’s largest geothermal producers and the country’s leading renewable energy company with an installed capacity of 1,471.8MW.
