A former flight attendant landed in jail after she was arrested for sending a bomb threat to an airline company through e-mail.
Authorities identified the suspect as Janette Alano Tulagan who was arrested in Barangay Holy Spirit in Quezon City.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) Anti-Cybercrime Group disclosed receiving a complaint from an unnamed airline company last July about an email the suspect sent saying: “All flights on Manila to Kuala Lumpur will have a bomb on board on 13 July.”
Immediately, the police coordinated with the United States Department of Justice to trace the web services the sender used.
“On the same day, Yahoo replied and provided us with the details on the specific IP address and cellphone number used by the person who created the account,” said Chief Insp. Artemio Cinco Jr., spokesperson of the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group.

Armed with the information investigators were able to trace the message to Tulagan’s cellphone.
The police are tight-lipped about Tulagan’s possible motive pending completion of the investigation.
However, the PNP disclosed the concerned airline took additional security measures as a result of the message.
Tulagan reportedly refused to give any statement to the police when she was arrested.
The suspect will face charges for violation of Presidential Decree 1727 or the Anti-Bomb Joke Law. CRP
