Energy firm Alsons Consolidated Resources (ACR) said on Thursday its key projects are on schedule for completion from early 2019 to 2022 despite lower revenues in the first half of 2018.
Up for completion are the 105-megawatt (MW) second section of the 210 MW Sarangani Energy Corporation (SEC) in Maasim, Sarangani, the 15.1 MW river-run hydroelectric power plant in Maasim’s Siguil River and the 105 MW coal-powered San Ramon Power, Inc. (SRPI), based in Zamboanga City.
Alsons said Section 2 of the SEC is almost 80 percent complete and targeted for commercial operations by early 2019.
The first section of the SEC had been operating since 2016 and serves General Santos City, Sarangani and other parts of Mindanao. Section 2 aims to augment the baseload power of SEC and will serve an additional three million residents in key areas of Mindanao such as South Cotabato and the Zamboanga Peninsula.
The Siguil River hydro plant is targeted for completion in 2020 and will mark ACR’s debut to the renewable energy. The P3.7-billion project will serve consumers from South Cotabato, Sarangani and General Santos.
The SRPI will begin construction by 2019 and begin operations in 2022. The power plant aims to stabilize the Zamboanga Peninsula power grid.
Meanwhile, in a regulatory disclosure, ACR said first-half revenues amounted to P3.48 billion, slightly lower than the P3.58 billion recorded in the same period last year. The company said revenues from SEC Section 1 operations contributed to the bulk of the earnings.
