Special Assistant to the President Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go expressed his optimism over how the municipality of Sultan Kudarat could sustain itself as one of the top-performing local economies in the country.
Go was guest of honor and speaker during the 71st Founding Anniversary of the Municipality of Sultan Kudarat held at the Municipal Gymnasium in Maguindanao on 20 August 2018.
In his speech, Go cited the different industries that flourish in Sultan Kudarat including livestock and agriculture. He noted Sultan Kudarat being home to the largest grain processing complex in the country while its fishing industry continues to thrive with tuna exports. The municipality’s rich mineral resource is yet to be tapped, he added.
Go expressed optimism for the development of Sultan Kudarat as he cited that the municipality’s industries could be maximized once the Mindanao Metro Rail project is up and running.
Moreover, Go assured that President Rodrigo Roa Duterte will make good in his promise to improve the lives of the farmers just like how he distributed 4,200 hectares worth of land titles to 1,680 farmers in Sultan Kudarat last April. He also clarified that along with the land titles were trainings, insurance, credit assistances and farm machineries.
Go urged local government officials and their constituents to continue striving for the continuing progress of their municipality.
