San Beda College shoots to regain its bearing after a painful loss to Lyceum of the Philippines University as it squares off with Arellano University today in the 94th NCAA basketball tournament at the Filoil Flying V Centre.
The Lions lost steam in a heartbreaking 66-73 defeat to the Pirates Tuesday that sent them to their first loss after winning their first six outings. They will be eager to bounce back with a win over the Arellano University Chiefs in their 4 p.m. encounter.
“We just have to bounce back from it and try to get as many wins as possible,” San Beda coach Boyet Fernandez said.
San Beda will play an AU team that is looking to play more consistently after splitting wins (three) with losses (four) that kept the latter stranded in the middle of the pack.
University of Perpetual Help System Dalta, meanwhile, seeks to keep its spot at third where they possess a 5-2 (win-loss) mark while College of St. Benilde tries to snatch it as they clash at 2 p.m.
The Altas have been a revelation thus far as they have zoomed to their current place despite coming into the season with 11 new players and a coach in Frankie Lim.
Letran, meanwhile, aims to ride the crest of their 84-63 rout of Mapua Tuesday as it tackles Emilio Aguinaldo College.
