DUMAGUETE CITY — Some P24-million worth of suspected shabu were seized by authorities from an alleged supplier right inside the sari-sari store he had allegedly been using as a front for his operations in Barangay Bajumpandan, early Thursday morning

Police were able to retrieve four packs of suspected shabu weighing around two kilograms.

The suspect was identified as Janmark Abadilla alias “Biboy.” He was arrested during a joint operation by the Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office’s (NORPPO) Provincial Intelligence Branch-Special Operations Group (PIB-SOG), the Dumaguete City Police Station and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Negros Oriental.

Police also recovered in Abadilla’s possession P120,000 worth of cash along with a loaded .38 revolver pistol with 11 live bullets.

PIB-SOG chief Senior Inspector Armel Von Alegria said the operation was undertaken by virtue of a search warrant issued by Dumaguete City executive judge Gerardo Paguio.

The police chief also noted that Abadilla is allegedly one of the main sources, or “bodegeros,” of illegal drugs in Negros Oriental.

“The drug syndicates use young people now, maybe because they can count on them better,” Alegria said in Cebuano.

Since he only rents the place in Bajumpandan where he was arrested, authorities have yet to determine if Abadilla is a native of Dumaguete or belongs to somewhere else.
