The Bureau of Customs (BoC) exceeded its revenue collection target for the month of July by 3.9 percent or P1.9 billion.

Customs Commissioner Isidro Lapeña said they collected P52.046 billion compared to the month’s target of P50.07 billion.

Total revenues collected from January to July already reached P332.5-billion, exceeding by 1.3 percent its P328.192-billion target for the first seven months of this year.

Fifteen of the 17 BoC ports surpassed their respective targets. These were:

• Port of Batangas P13.390-billion, up 15.5 percent; Port of Manila, P7.686-billion up 2 percent; Port of Limay, P3.908-billion up 28.2 percent; Port of NAIA, P3.347-billion up 1.7 percent;

• Port of Cebu, P2.465-billion up 9.2 percent; Port of Davao, P2.259-billion up 40.6 percent; Port of Cagayan de Oro, P1.871-billion up 32.3 percent; Port of San Fernando, P430-million up 57 percent;

• Port of Iloilo, P338-million up 24.6 percent; Port of Tacloban, P234-million up 962.9 percent; Port of Clark, P204-million up 54.7 percent; Port of Zamboanga, P35-million up 47.1 percent; Port of Legaspi, P24-million up 1 percent; and Port of Surigao, P13-million up 536.8 percent.

The Port of Aparri collected P10-million, 101.6 percent over its target.

The two ports which failed to meet their targets were the Manila International Container Port (P14.224 billion versus its P15.439-billion target) and the Port of Subic (P1.601 billion against its P1.802-billion target).
