TWINS Christian and Jesse Perkins will not play brothers in this film.

Violence, sex and drugs have increasingly predominated the content of local and foreign movies to the point of desensitizing the viewing public.

With commercially viable content being the top consideration in producing a movie, parents are left with little to no entertainment options that could capture the attention of children and impart values at the same time.

Kaibigan, an indie movie produced in partnership with the Department of Education, the Parent Teachers Association brings the message of how to say no to drugs, no to bullying and yes to purity. It is produced by Tarny and Tess Perkins, their business Cup of Faith with their children, the Perkins twins starring in the movie.

STEPHEN Baldwin stars in an action flick directed by Cesar Montano. Hollywood actor Stephen Baldwin plays the role of the father of one of the twins with Jean Garcia playing as his wife and the mother to one of the Perkins twins. The twins are not cast as brothers in the film. Mocha Uson is cast as a reporter in the movie. Cesar Montano directs the film.

The movie also stars Boots Anson Roa, Cesar Montano, Tirso Cruz, Alvin Anson, Lani Mercado, Emmanuelle Vera, Archie Adamos, Mariam Al Alawi, Victor Basa and Judah Paolo with Daniel Tan as co-director.

Bong Go, special assistant to President Rodrigo Duterte, is also playing a cameo role as a coach in the movie.

The story explores the rivalry between two high school students from contrasting backgrounds. One is associated with bad friends who cause a tragic event in their lives and intertwines them to form a bond. They then discover the true meaning of friendship and how to battle the challenges they face as teenagers in a world full of temptations that end up in wrong choices.

It is an action film that seeks to inspire the youth and provide direction on how to battle life’s challenges.

The Perkins twins have been singing songs of faith around the country for the past two years — in public schools, malls and even town fiestas — to share their message of right living by saying no to drugs, alcohol and bullying, bringing hope to the youth through their music. Their songs will be featured in the movie in collaboration with Vehnee Saturno.

The sponsors — Hapee Toothpaste, Chevrolet Philippines, Atoy Customs, Seaoil, SM Youth Music and Adventure Kings — all contributed to the making of the movie and to spread the good news of faith-based movies.

A promotions tour is set this September 2018 and the movie is set to be released in October 2018.
