Around 300 food packs have been given to nearly 3,000 flood-affected families in the northern Palawan town of El Nido, disaster officials said on Friday.
Each food pack contains 10 kilos of rice, cans of sardines, corned beef, mineral water, coffee and chocolate drinks for children, said Rebecca Federico, social welfare officer IV of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office.
Nine bags of used clothing donated by concerned citizens and 17 boxes of assorted food items from a Swedish tourist who recently visited El Nido will be sent to the victims next, according to Federico.
