The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will implement the ban on provincial buses on EDSA starting 15 August.
The policy aims to ease the travel congestion along the major thoroughfare by reducing the number of provincial buses.
MMDA general manager Jojo Garcia said the ban, initially scheduled on 1 August, will be enforced the whole day instead of the morning and afternoon rush hours.
The agency has earlier said northbound and southbound provincial buses will be banned on EDSA from Pasay City to Cubao at 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. during weekdays.
Garcia said the traffic scheme is in line with the intermodal transport system being proposed by the Department of Transportation to ease traffic congestion in Metro Manila.
