Norman Lee Benjamin Riego of ABS-CBN Sports was elected as the new president of the NCAA Press Corps, succeeding Cedelf Tupas of the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
Riego was the unanimous choice as the group’s new leader for scribes covering the beat, together with vice president Christian Jacinto of Spin.ph, secretary Randolph B. Leongson of Spin.ph, assistant secretary Peter Atencio of Manila Standard, treasurer Matthew Li of Tiebreaker Times and auditor Yo Sarmenta of ESPN5 in the elections held Tuesday.
Appointed as board of directors are Joey Villar of the Philippine Star, Theodore Jurado of People’s Journal, and Marivic Awitan of Balita. Tupas and Reuben Terrado of Spin.ph will serve as advisers.
